Projects
NAPOLI
The Napoli ship sank off the south coast of England.
The hull was moved to Harland & Wolff for
dismantling and we were commissioned to clean the
interior to aid the dismantling process. The wastes
comprised heavy fuel oils and our role included its
removal and treatment to meet hazardous waste
disposal parameters. Our involvement assisted the
client in realising potential savings on the project
by maintaining low tonnages whilst meeting hazardous
waste acceptance criteria. These waste were brokered
by ourselves to a licensed disposal facility in
North East England. The project costs was approx
£400K
Pilot Street, Belfast
This was a contaminated land site being redeveloped
by Gilbert Ash. It had been previously occupied by a
mill and there were significant quantities of
hazardous and non hazardous waste soils. We were
involved in removing the soils, sampling/analysis
and arranging transport and disposal of the wastes.
The project produced approx 3,500m3 of contaminated
soils of which 2,000m3 were hazardous. The project
costs was approx £500K

Ormeau Road, Belfast
This was a site contaminated with cinder ash
producing non hazardous waste soils. The site was
redeveloped by HJ O’Boyle Contracts and our role
involved site investigation, sampling and
establishing a cost effective method to remove and
treat the waste soils. We have access to non
hazardous soils treatment facilities that avoids
costly landfill tax charges when disposing to
landfill. Project costs approx £200K
Crumlin Road, Belfast
The main contractor on the project was TA Kernoghan
and it involved the removal and disposal of 2,000
tonnes of spoils contaminated with Japanese
knotweed. Japanese knotweed is a difficult waste
stream to manage and is becoming prolific in
redevelopment sites. Our involvement can assist
clients in managing costs effectively in both
removal and disposal. The project value was approx
